I teach orchestra at a middle school.
I recently went to a training session about interacting with students. I asked the presenter what I should do when a student asks me a personal question in class. He said I should say ‘We’re going to table that for now.’ I wasn’t familiar with that expression, so I looked it up. To “table” something has two meanings:
- to set aside for the time being
- to put forward for discussion
Two opposite meanings. So I guess this webpage is that table.
